Stephanie moved in with DJ after her husband died and left behind three sons. She initially wanted to return to her old life as a party DJ but stayed to help raise the children. Stephanie began dating and eventually marrying Jimmy, who was Kimmy's brother. While Jimmy was similar to his sister in personality, Stephanie found him more tolerable than Kimmy because he was mild-mannered and humble. Being with Jimmy helped Stephanie feel like the adult in the relationship and gave her direction in life. They both wanted to be good parents and were expecting a child at the end of Fuller House.
